1959 fue constituido el primer Consejo de Ministros del gobierno revolucionario en el sal\u00f3n principal de la Biblioteca central de la Universidad de Oriente, hecho que fue conmemorado en el hist\u00f3rico sitio.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\"itemFullText\">\n<p>Al acto asisti\u00f3 una representaci\u00f3n de la comunidad universitaria, acompa\u00f1ada por Niurka Bell, miembro del Bur\u00f3 Ej\u00e9cutivo del Comit\u00e9 Provincial del Partido y Martha Mesa Valenciano, presidenta de la Comisi\u00f3n de Educaci\u00f3n, Cultura, Ciencia Tecnolog\u00eda y Medioambiente de la Asamblea Nacional del Poder Popular.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sierramaestra.cu\/images\/IMG-20240103-WA0089.jpg\" alt=\"IMG 20240103 WA0089\" width=\"1040\" height=\"464\" \/><\/p>\n<p>El relevante acontecimiento fue el primer paso en el proceso de institucionalizaci\u00f3n de la Revoluci\u00f3n cubana, en el que se decret\u00f3 el cese de las funciones de Fulgencio Batista, del Senado, el Congreso, los gobiernos provinciales y alcald\u00edas municipales as\u00ed como ratificar la vigencia de la Constituci\u00f3n de 1940 y designar a Santiago de Cuba como capital provisional de la Rep\u00fablica.<\/p>\n<p>El Consejo, integrado por cinco Ministros, entre los que se destac\u00f3 Faustino P\u00e9rez, design\u00f3 a Fidel como jefe de las fuerzas Armadas de tierra, mar y aire, y ejerci\u00f3 durante 38 horas sus funciones ejecutivas en la mambisa casa de altos estudios santiaguera, hasta su traslado a La
