La entidad se dedica a producir en cantidades comerciales agentes de control biol\u00f3gico para combatir el ataque de plagas y enfermedades en los cultivos. Se le conoce por sus siglas \u201cCREE\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Luego de un tiempo sin funcionar establemente, la entidad pas\u00f3 a integrar la Unidad Empresarial de Base Cafetalera perteneciente a la Empresa Caf\u00e9 San Luis y est\u00e1 en condiciones de entregar bacterias y otros microorganismos de uso en la eliminaci\u00f3n de plagas y enfermedades que destruyen cultivos.<\/p>\n<p>Actualmente se producen medios biol\u00f3gicos en el CREE del territorio, cuya producci\u00f3n protegen con agentes biopesticidas o biocontroladores gran parte de las\u00a0 hect\u00e1reas de un amplio rango de cultivos, ahorrando millones de d\u00f3lares en sustituci\u00f3n de bioplaguicidas sint\u00e9ticos, habi\u00e9ndose aplicado hasta el momento cientos de toneladas de diversos agentes y productos. \u00a0Aqu\u00ed se producen actualmente solo nem\u00e1todos, pues la escasez de materia prima incide en la producci\u00f3n de entom\u00f3fagos y entomopat\u00f3genos, recalca Ra\u00fal Reyes Cristi,
