San Luis, Santiago de Cuba, jun. 23, 25.-<\/strong> Cada 21 de junio los hombres y mujeres que contribuyen al incremento de la superficie boscosa y el cuidado de la flora celebran su d\u00eda. Por tal motivo, se desarroll\u00f3 aqu\u00ed un meritorio acto municipal, donde se reconoci\u00f3 dignamente a trabajadores destacados y j\u00f3venes.<\/div>\n

En 1970, por acuerdo de la Organizaci\u00f3n de las Naciones Unidas para la Alimentaci\u00f3n y la Agricultura (FAO), se instituy\u00f3 el 21 de marzo como D\u00eda Forestal a nivel Mundial, y en Cuba comenz\u00f3 su celebraci\u00f3n a partir de 1975, pero con fecha 21 de junio, en correspondencia con las condiciones clim\u00e1ticas y las prioridades del pa\u00eds, pues coincide con el principio del verano, momento \u00f3ptimo para la plantaci\u00f3n de posturas maderables.<\/div>\n
